Jackie Lapin is the author of The Historic Traveler Blog and the publisher of The Historic Traveler Magazine for history lovers that combine stunning photos and lively descriptions of historic locations around the world, coupled with recommendations for historic novels, mysteries, histories and biographies that illuminate what it would have been like to live there. An avid historical reader herself, Jackie shares her passion twice weekly with highlights from the more than 500 localities she has visited and photographed. Jackie brings her engaging storytelling skills to the blog after being one of the nation’s first woman sportswriters, a four-time author and a pioneer in multiple marketing industries.
Jackie is also the founder of the membership alliance that goes deeper, providing an array of resources for history and historic novel lovers found nowhere else.
Through her years of immersive reading and in research for The Historic Traveler Book Directory filled with more than 7,500 historic novels, mysteries, histories and biographies (one of the membership perks), Jackie has also become one of the leading experts on the treasured books of historic reading.

Jackie Lapin is a serial pioneer.
At the age of 11, she envisioned a career that did not exist at the time..becoming a woman sportswriter. And at 20 she was at the Detroit Free Press; at 21 at the Associated Press and on the front pages of the Los Angeles Times; and at 22 she costed Dodger Dugout on KTTV-TV in Los Angeles and one at the Washington Post--opening doors and making national television.
Jackie parlayed that into creating one of the two largest sports/special events and cable television public relations agencies in America with such world class clients as The World Poker Tour (where she was instrumental in launching the worldwide poker phenomenon,) Toyota, Upper Deck, The Golf Channel, the LA Marathon, Disney, Seagrams, Mazda, Avon, Showtime, PetSmart, American Movie Classics, Showtime, Top Rank Boxing, Ice Capades, Harlem Globetrotters, National Hockey League and more--again beating the odds in a business dominated by men and bigger international agencies.

In the mid 2000's Lapin became a bestselling author with two Amazon.com bestsellers, The Art of Conscious Creation, How You Can Transform the World, a book lauded by such other leading notables as Joe Vitale and Mark Victor Hansen, as well as the media and readers worldwide who call the book "life-changing." And her second book, Practical Conscious Creation: Daily Techniques to Manifest Your Desires, was named “Best Spiritual Book of the Year” at the International New Age Trade Show.
Inspired to now serve other personal growth leaders and change-makers, she launched Conscious Media Relations to do radio/podcast tours. In 2013 some of her clients began asking if she would book them for speaking, Jackie chose not to, but instead offered them leads. That was the launch of the innovative and groundbreaking SpeakerTunity®, which she sold in 2024.
When not at her desk or on the road speaking, Jackie has always traveled with her camera to capture the essence of historic cities, beautiful landscapes and different cultures.
